Philip's birthday is special to us all.
Our family takes part in the
Texas Adopt-A-Hwy program
in Philip's memory.

Philip's birthday is June 13th (1980).
He would have been 34 years old this year.
He was such a wonderful human being; generous,
hard-working, compassionate, considerate,
helpful, kind, fun, loving, intelligent,
and might I add that he was so handsome.
No, I am not biased, just simply
and sincerely honest.
Philip was dear to our family.

(IN MEMORIAM) BIRTHDAY WISHES: PHILIP G.!

Remembering my dear nephew Philip, Jr.
today on what should have been his 34th birthday!
Still missing you after all these years.
We love you so much, Philip, rest-in-peace!
Above: The last (and my favorite) pictures that I have of Philip; he was 19.
Philip was simply:
a wonderful, respectful, intelligent, hard-working young man.
If you knew him, you know exactly what I mean.
If you never met him, you lost out on meeting a
wonderful, generous, beautiful person.
We miss him dearly.
The heartache, still huge and words fail to describe our loss.
Say hi to "momo," "popo," and all our other loved ones
(gone too soon like you) who now get to enjoy your company.
The joy we now have left is of the day that
we will all be reunited with our Maker...

Josie and Alex would like to welcome you to light a candle in Philip's memory

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY STORY: EASTER SUNDAY: BIG SPRING HERALD!

Thanks to my sis (Aurora) for mailing me the copies.
Thanks to the Guzman-Puentes family for buying copies
for everyone who still needed one.
Since I am not willing to pay for the online subscription, which
would guarantee me access to the story, I am resorting to the old
scan and pan method.  LOL!
Besides, even if I did subscribe to the Herald and tried to repost,
the website would probably not allow non-paying readers to open and see it.
Anyway, enjoy my story about our family's Adopt-A-Highway
group which posted via the Big Spring Herald on Easter 2014.

TEXAS TRASH OFF 2014: MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN OUR ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY EVENT!

A very sincere "thank-you" to everyone who participated in our Texas Trash Off (Adopt-A-Highway) event today.  The morning started off very cold -- and "windy"showed up uninvited.  LOL!  We had fun despite having to do battle with the strong winds and messy roadside.  It took a little longer this time around because of the above factors,  but we marched on and had a great time.  We started this group to honor and remember Philip, Jr.  and today's event kept true to its purpose.  We are grateful for another successful and safe event.
From the bottom of our hearts, (in alphabetical order and relationship to Philip in parenthesis) A million THANKS to:
ALEX H. (cousin), ARI H. (great-cousin), AURORA D. (aunt), DORA C.  (aunt), EVA G. (mom), ERICA P. (sister), FELICIA  G.(sister), JABIER H. (uncle), JOSIE H. (aunt), PHILIP G., Sr. (dad), RUDY G. (cousin), and SARA (aunt)!
