The End of Another Chapter: The Final Clean Up Event.

...I find it difficult and sad to report, but we are nearing the end to this family project: the FAMILY OF PHILIP GUZMAN JR (Adopt-a-Highway). It has been such an honor to have been affiliated with the Don't mess with Texas Program for all these many wonderful (10+) years. We don't really want to let go of the group, but we are growing weary of trying to find extra people to help with the clean ups we partake of the four times a year. Seems like it should not be so difficult; that’s just life.
Therefore, this morning, my sis, Eva and I, as the group leaders, have decided to end the project and to have one final clean-up to celebrate her late son's (my beloved nephew) birthday for the last time via the Tx Adopt-a-Highway program in June. We will always celebrate it and remember him, just not via the clean-up events. We always tried to have one clean-up around the time of his birthday for obvious reason.
We invite EVERY SINGLE PERSON (family or friend) to join us for the final clean-up in June (maybe June 10th). Whether you have ever helped out before or not, we invite you with warm hearts and so much love to help us bid farewell to the family project. We will have a gathering after the final clean-up. More finite details will be posted.
The person for whom this project began, Philip, will forever be in our minds and in our hearts. It was for him that the project was started by Sara and myself, but it was the idea of bringing unity and solidarity to the family that truly inspired it. Plus, it was so flattering knowing we were doing our civic duty (Keep Big Spring Beautiful). We will miss it, but we hope we find other reasons for getting together. Fingers crossed.
I adore each and every single one of you. It was a great “ride” while it lasted.
